Tour Itinerary
Day 01: Acrra
Arrive at Airport. Transfer to hotel. Day free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Acrra City Tour
After breakfast depart hotel for a sightseeing city tour of Accra. You will drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra, the capital of Ghana. This 128 year old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history. You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/ Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.
Day 03: Kakum/ Cape Coast Castle
Early morning departure for a drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa´s surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360sq km, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 30m (100 feet) above the forest floor. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through the forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer or take a walk on the canopy walkway.
Day 04: Kumasi City Tour
After breakfast at your hotel, check out and depart for a drive through the forest zone to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire to explore the legends of the famous Ashantis, whose legacies are still evident today. After lunch, visit Manhyia Palace Museum, to obtain first hand information on the legacies of the Ashanti kingdom. A regal history that dates back to 1700 is told with relics and artifacts. Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kumasi.
Day 05: Ashanti Craft Villages
This day is devoted to visiting the three famous craft villages in Ashanti – Ahwiaa, the wood carvers´ village, Ntonso, the home of Adinkra and Bonwire, the Kente weaving village. You will have the opportunity to see how African crafts are made and to buy directly from the artisans who make them. After lunch, depart for a scenic drive through the forest zone to Accra. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Accra.
Day 06 & 07: Accra – Lomé, Togo
Depart Accra to Lome. Check in at hotel and lunch at restaurant. Visit Grand Marche, Marche des Feticheurs, Musee National, Place de I´ Independence. Dinner and overnight at hotel Lome, Togo.
Day 08: Lomé – Ouidah - Cotonou
Breakfast at hotel. Depart for a visit to Ouidah, the cradle of African Traditional Religion, en-route to Cotonou. Tour the temple dedicated to the sacred Python, which is believed to give vitality and protection; you will also pay a visit to the sacred forest which houses many shrines dedicated to various deities. Visit the historical Museum of Ouidah located in an old Portuguese fort built in 1721. Continue the journey northwards to Cotonou. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Cotonou.
Day 09: Cotonou – Ganvie
Make a visit to Ganvie (the village on water), commonly referred to as the Venice of West Africa. Witness first hand, the people of Ganvie carrying out their daily routine as vendors in dugout canoes pile high with wares, transacting commerce with one another and with tourists. You will enjoy shopping on the floating market and taking a relaxing canoe ride on the waterways of this exotic 300–year–old village. After lunch, drive through the multicolored center of the administrative and commercial capital of Benin to view it´s many statues and monuments. Return back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Cotonou – Accra
After breakfast, depart Cotonou for Accra via Lomé. Stop over at Lome for lunch and then continue to Accra. Dinner and overnight at African Royal Beach Hotel
Day 11: Day at Leisure/ Departure
Today is reserved as your day at Leisure or for any last minute shopping. Depart to the airport for check-in and departure back home.

Though hot and dusty at times, the rewards of such a tour are substantial. Tourist infrastructure is unpredictable in these places, Venture Travel try our uttermost to give the best accommodation, but travellers should understand we are in Africa, therefore be flexible to accept the odd delay or change of plan, then the tour can be a fantastic experience.

English-speaking driver/guide (non exclusive use of vehicle; window seat guaranteed)
For all our tours we use 4x4 land cruisers They are also fitted with 2 way high frequency radio communicating system.
Park entrance fees for the game reserves and National parks.

Personal insurance and baggage insurance
In the eventuality of a medical emergency, where possible Venture Travel will assist to be taken to a good hospital. Hospital bills are born by the patient, however in the event that client can not meet the hospital bills Venture Travel will contribute £500.00 which is payable by client on their return to the United Kingdom.
